Top One Capital LLC is a Missouri Limited Liability Company owned and operated by Sean Davis. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Sean spent nearly the first two decades of his adult life in various parts of the country – partly because of nine years of active duty US Army service, and partly due to his desire to see life through multiple lenses.
Leaving St. Louis at 18 years old to join the Army was the genesis to a life of exploration, curiosity, and the strong belief that everything is relative, and nothing is absolute. While serving in the Army, Sean spent a great deal of his free time on the Internet learning about every subject imaginable. As a young man, he was most intrigued by technology, and took a liking to web development as a hobby. This hobby would develop to be an extremely valuable, self-taught skill.
Fast forward a few years and Sean would transition from serving in the Army to becoming a freelance web developer as a veteran. Freelancing quickly turned into full-time employment with a small but growing company. This relationship lasted nearly eight years, resulting in Sean becoming a co-owner of the company. In 2021, that company was acquired, and Sean exited the web development industry with a respectable return on time and effort invested.
“Top One” is simply a pledge to try your best in everything that you do. You will always strive to perform in the top one percent of an activity, rather than the bottom ninety-nine percent.
Similar to Sean’s exit from service in the Army, years of web development and a healthy salary led to thoughts of what would come next, professionally. Real Estate Investing seemed to be the long-term goal of every budding entrepreneur, though it has always been seen as an endeavor reserved for the bold few, or those who were “lucky” enough to have the assets to make it happen. For Sean, having thought about this path for many years, leaving the web development industry with plenty of capital was the perfect time to make it happen for himself.
That is the birth of Top One Capital LLC. “Top One” is simply a pledge to try your best in everything that you do. You will always strive to perform in the top one percent of an activity, rather than the bottom ninety-nine percent. It’s a mindset, one that Sean formed in 2009, just a couple of years before leaving the Army with an Honorable Discharge.
Roughly a decade later, now with enough capital to realize the dream of investing in real estate, Sean has decided to dedicate his complete focus to real estate investing in the St. Louis area. Top One Capital LLC is the entity through which Sean has chosen to make this happen.
After almost twenty years away from St. Louis – serving in various parts of the world as a Soldier, and choosing to live in Austin, TX, San Diego, CA, and Chicago, IL as a web developer – Sean has returned to St. Louis to help maintain quality housing for families in the area that raised him.
